Current interests:

• AI, both ChatGPT and GPT APIs, as well as locally-hosted LLMs that run really well on my M3 Max Macbook. My current favorite local LLM front-end is Ollama.ai and the Mistral-7b model.
  • Here’s a good quickstart video for Ollama.
  • A lot of people seem to like LMStudio as a front-end, but meh, and it’s not open source.
  • Pretty much all of these tools are front-ends for llama.cpp
  • Good places to hang out: HuggingFace and /r/LocalLlama
• Instead of trying to be more intelligent, I’m focusing on being less stupid.

• Personal well-being. (mine is fine, but one can always get better!)
